District Level Task Force held a meeting today, dated 12th January under the chairmanship of Mr. Dipu Kumar Deka, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh district to discuss the preparations for administering COVID-19 vaccine. It is to be noted that under the Covid-19 vaccine distribution program which is scheduled to begin on January 16, the Medical College and Hospital of Dibrugarh and the Barbaruwa Primary Health Center will be providing 100 health care. Additionally, for the commencement of the vaccination process on January 16, a total of 13,450 people, including 10,171 health workers and 456 Central Government employees and 2823 frontline workers have been recruited in Dibrugarh. Moreover, the vaccine will be distributed to health workers, frontline workers and more than 50-year-old sick people in the district based on the vaccines available.
Dr. Krishna Kemprai (Joint Director of Health Department) and Dr. Biswajit Baruai (District Immunization), Dr. Pallavi Konwar, SMO, NPS, World Health Organization have explained the process of administering and the purpose of the Covid-19 vaccine at the meeting.
