Erection of India’s Longest Road Bridge Over Brahmaputra River

India’s longest road bridge is set to be fabricated in Northeastern region, between Assam and Meghalaya, over the Brahmaputra river. This construction will reduce the distance between the two states of Northeast, just by 203 kms. This road bridge is going to be a four lane road bridge on NH 127, which will be financed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). On Monday, dated 16th November, 2020 the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) asserted that the ‘Larsen & Toubro’ has emerged as the lowest bidder, approximately for ₹3200 crore, building the 18 kilometers long strategic bridge in Northeast.
