Shaheed Bhagat Singh, an Indian socialist revolutionary freedom fighter, was born on 28 September, 1907 at Banga Village, Jaranwala Tehsil in the Lyallpur district of the Punjab province of British India present day Pakistan. He was born to Kishan Singh and Vidyavati. He was hanged on 23 March, 1931at the age of 23 for the murder of Saunders.Paying homage to the martyr Bhagat Singh, Sarbananda Sonowal tweeted, “Heartfelt tributes to one of the India’s iconic freedom fighters Shaheed #BhagatSingh on his birth anniversary. He was an epitome of bravery & sacrifice and his ideals will continue to inspire generations.”
