CM previews the progress of Solid Waste Management Project

On Thursday, September 10, 2020, the Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, inspected the progress of the Solid Waste Management Project, at Lekai in the Dibrugarh district. This project outlayed a budget of 75 crore, under the Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Programme. The scientific management of the solid wastes will enable generating fertilizes, diesel, granules, etc. Also, this project will produce an amount of 40 tonnes of bio-fertilizer as bi-product, on every 100 metric tonnes of installed capacity.

During the inspection, the CM mentioned that the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, aims at making India a cleaner, greener and an ideal nation. He adds, this project will be taken up at various places in Assam. As such 98 urban areas have been identified for the same. Sonowal added, the requirement of the adequate infrastructure for the increasing productivity. It’s completion will enable the demands of the mass for a proper wastage system and eventually will help the district to prosper in every possible ways.
